1st low boost/milage kill

Well the car only has 350 miles on the new motor and 8lbs of boost, but I raced a modded 5.0 foxbody last night from a light to the top of 3rd(85-90mph) and pulled about half a car on him. I was pretty impressed since I am only running 8lbs and havent even tuned the fuel to accomidate the new setup. Planning on tuning up to 20-22lbs when the new intercooler is installed. Dyno and car pics to come soon.

You have an 8 psi spring in your Ext. Tial wastegate?!

Didn't think they came that light ... mine is an 11 psi spring and with my completely open system, 13 psi is the least amount of boost I can run.

Re: 1st low boost/milage kill

Its got a .7 bar(10.2lb) spring, I only seem to be getting like 8psi until 3rd gear where I get about 11. You cant really trust an Autometer gauge though. By the way, the turbo is also blown. Its was on its 4-5th rebuild so its a new turbo i guess. There is a lot of oil in the intercooler pipes.

1QUICK2, get a good VDO gauge from summitracing.com for $26
Also, the oil in your intake pipes is more than likely coming from your PCV, not your turbo.

90Stangjc, with the mods he has listed his car should easily do low 13s, maybe high 12s. Not sure why you would think that would be a B.S. kill.

Re: 1st low boost/milage kill

Do some people think that modded cars have all of the mods written on the windows? I dont know the guy, he reved on me from a light and we raced. It was an LX coupe 5 speed. I hope to get low/mid 12's, it ran a 13.5 with just intake/exhaust/BC/50 trim CT-26. It cost me like 25.00 in parts to rebuild a turbo, but now its looks as if the center section needs to be replaced. Jekyl, the PCV is not vented into the intake, so it can be that, not shure if the turbo is too bad, or if there is left over oil in the stock intercooler my friend let me use.
