Anyone tell me if this will be a good start for my system

I have a 95 caddy eldorado, didn't touch the speakers yet, just going for the subs.

2 audiobahn aw1206t dual voice coil, 1100 rms subs

1 audiobahn a8000t amp, 800@2 ohm rms

1 audiobahn 1 farad cap.

Got the whole setup for around $500 new with 1 year warranty so don't diss me too bad,I'm not a rich guy, puttin alota faith in audiobahn.

Re: Help with newbi system

if you don't care about how your music sounds, it would be a good system. I imagine it can get very loud

Re: Help with newbi system

Think the amp will be enough to pump these subs for the time being, or should I start saving for another one so I can run one to each sub?

Bought a damn box and they don't fit either, mags are too big for a slanted box

Re: Help with newbi system

those subs are dual 4ohm?
in that case, you're only sending 200 watts to each speaker. If you were to get another amp, you could send 800 watts to each. I'm not going to tell you what you should do, because if I were to do that you wouldn't like my answer, but you will get 4x the power by getting another one of the same amp.

just put them in the other way so the mags are out of the box they look good like that and will not sound one bit different.
and then revers the polarity of the speaker connections.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

If the subs are dual 4 ohm then the amp will do fine ..it is rated at 800w x 2.. each sub can be wired in parallel to create the 2 ohm load that it is rated for...

Dont tell newbies how to do stuff if you dont know yourself..

RMS Power: 800W x 1 @ 2 ohms
