EML warning light

I have a '98 525, and after being parked up for a few months, the battery was flat. a buddy helped to jump start it and got the battery poles around the wrong way.. colour blind..!! anyways, after a few sparks, we figured it out and started the car.

Problem:
Now there is a light on the instrument panel that says EML on it. It is inbetween the oiul pressure warning and the Electrical generator warning lights.

Anyone know what this EML lamp is for, what it means and how to turn it off.

I read through the handbook, but it just explains it as an EML lamp... doh!

And.. please.... dont write telling what a dumbass my buddy is for getting the jump cables mixed up.... he already knows it.. and its my fault for asking a colour blind buddy to connect the red wire to the green wire and the black wire to the engine block!!

Many thanks..

Tim.

A reply already

I got this reply from a very helpful guy, Ron Carter.

Nope that is a OBD II indicator light, the pin seven reset is for the service interval, SI lights reset.

I believe it is a false code on yours since it is only on the 12 cylinder cars. I would remove the bulb and be happy.

See the link.

Thanks... for your Help Ron.

Best Regards,

Tim.
