so im pulling out of wawa at 2am and stick my car in reverse and as i start to back up my car starts to hum from the passenger side wheel well. when i aply pressure to the break it becomes real high pitched and then fades out,
sounds like its coming from inside the car, but i know its not. friend i mine said it might be the tranny but 1st-5th gear is smooth with not a damn problem. Any ideas on what the hell this sound could be before i take it to get it checked out so i have some idea on what im dealing with? seems like everytime something gets fixed it causes something else to go worng!

Re: Funny sound, maybe the tranny?
well, the hum might be the regular ole' hum every car has when you give the car a little gas in reverse. I think most people on here will know what i'm talking about. And the high pitch squeal could be worn brake pads. I really don't know what else to tell you.
