Damn man! JAWESOME vid!! TT350 was pretty impressive... but I don't know if it was all that great considering the amount of money put into the car.

Re: 350zTT Vs Evo VIII

agreed...

I also was not really impressed by how it only pulled 2 length against a car that has roughly the same stock horsepower, and thousands less in mods...

Here's what I recall about some of the 6-cylinder Nissans...

350z , stock, uses a VQ35DE (3.5 liters and V configuration, non-turbo)
300zx turbo uses a Q30DETT (3.0 liters and V configuraation, twin turbos)
Skyline GT-R uses RB26DETT (2.6 liters, Inline configuration, twin turbos)
Skyline GT-S uses RB25DET (2.5 liters, inline configuration, one turbo)

I think he might be refering to the new R35 Skyline... which uses the VQ series V6.

Looks like G35 Coupe with body accents.

300z's are VG motors not VQ.

well i guess the problem with the Z is that it can't hook up in the lower gears, becuase that kind of performance is pathetic for a twin turbo Z. i mean a stock Z can walk a stock evo on the highway. so how come a twin turbo Z can't run on a lightly modded evo 8? ( even though its probrably making close to 350whp in that vid )

If you mean the Inifiniti G35's, then yeah, although Skylines everywhere else also have VQ25's, and VQ30's.

Check this: http://www2.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/V35/0301/
And this: http://skyline.nissan.co.jp/still.html

The Skyline has been in the US all along as the G35's. And yes, there are four and 2-door Skylines...always have been.

Nissan, however, has decided to split their GT-R car from the Skyline name. Instead of making the GT-R another model level of the Skyline, they will be a model unto itself. If you want an AWD Skyline, buy the Inifniti G35x. It has the same ATTESSA system the previous Skylines have had, including the GT-R.

All of them will be based on Nissan's FM chassis, and they won't be R35s anymore. The "R" in "R32", "R33", and "R34" was based on their their motor, the RB26DETT.

The new GT-R will be a V35. The projected motor will be a VQ series also, but not a 35. It will be a 3.2-liter twin-turbo...VQ32DETT.

The amazing thing about the VQ32DETT, besides the stock 480bhp output, is that when in idle, it is basically an N/A motor, with the turbo being bypassed. Don't ask me how it works, and don't ask me for what purpose (maybe gas conservation?), but that's all I've found out so far. Maybe they'll give you the option of literally turning the turbo on and off...

its actually a AWD on steriods. but the skylines were never really true AWD's. its only AWD when it needs to be. but its mostly RWD when the computer doesn't see traction issues.
