idle issues

ok guys (and dayna)... i need some help on this one

the car will not idle under 1800rpm.

it's not a vacuum leak... i've checked and rechecked every line, even unplugged some to see if the revs go up *which they do* i recently removed the A/C stuff... is there something i didn't bypass or unplug?

also, since this has been happening when it is started it bogs for a minute (like it's running on 1 rotor), then the revs go up and stay up *again around 2000*

soooo.... any help?

thx

Re: idle issues

OK, well it sounds like something may be stuck. Maby your fast idle cam is stuck, or maby the throttle cable is binding, or the throttle body valve couls be stuck. That would cause a high idle.
You could also look at the control unit, it may be faulty. Also check the BAC and ISC systems. They all tend to cause the problem you described.

But you mentioned it was bogging off the start up and then doesent go below 2k, im guessing ISC (idle speed control) system.

Also what year is your 7?

Re: idle issues

Try unpluging your BAC valve, The AC is located on the side of the dynamic chamber. The engine speed should drop when you disconnect the electrical connector.
If the engine speed dosent decrease, post here again and ill tell you how to test the BAC and see if it is working.

Re: idle issues

or check your A/C control solenoid if you have just removed your A/C...

this solenoid will control RPM when it realises that your A/C is on.

All your solenoids should come off and go into the woods ant way

I doubt this is the issue...
more likely a BAC issue. which again isn't needed, and can go into the woods.

Re: idle issues

ah! thank you

well... it worked, when unplugged the idle went down... however, what does the BACV (is it supposed to) do?
