Sporadic Probelm

I have an issue where I lose power to my radio, sometimes it's while I'm driving or when I start the car. Then all of a sudden it will come on, sometimes. There have been times when it works fine for days. When this happens there are several other symptoms.

1. Steering wheel moves back to the default position like when you turn the ignition off. Somestimes is moves up and down (while driving), sometimes is stays in the current position.
2. Can't enable the cruise control
3. Windshield wiper won't work (doesn't happen to often)
4. Interior lights fade in and out.

All this happens at the same time. It all either works or fails together. I recently had all the computer codes reset and I replaced the battery. I don't have the problem as often but it happens at least every few days.

Thanks

Is there any other stuff quitting at the same time?
I'm having trouble with my speedo, sometimes it works, others it doesn't. When the speedo quits, the computer doesn't have the information it needs to run the cruise control, so that quits too.
And my radio hasn't worked since I got the car a month ago.
Once I figure out my problem, maybe I'll have a suggestion about yours.

Electrical gremlin

On my E34 and others it has proved to be the fuseable like that feeds the rear distribution unit.
It is an alluminium Ribbon fuse in a black plastic juction box all of its own with heavey cables.
there is one under the hood and one under the back seat. The hood is the first to go. the reason is a stress fracture rather than a meltdown so it look GOOD1 Undo the nuts to check and it will fall into two pieces.
On mine the heat of opperating the central loccking opent the gap. as it cooled it all worked again. i took ages to figure out other things wee not working too.
Good luck with it it its not done yet.
