97 traction control

Just bought my 2nd Park Avenue - this one had traction control. Can anyone tell me if it is normal for it to make an awful noise when engaging. Had some snow the other day, so thought I'd try it. The front made an awful noise, dash readout said that the system was operating, after a second or two system returned to normal.

My buddy has traction control on his Avalon (Toyota) and it is basically silent.

If anyone has information on this, please drop me a note!!!!

Mine is pretty quiet, its not silent, you can hear it engaging, calipers compessing but it doesn make any scaring noises.

cant figure why yours is loud... maybe its your ABS pump... is it loud when you brake on slippery surface?
