Door trim, outside

What can be done about the peeling plastic on the door trim at the bottom of the windows on 1993 Escort? Are there replacements? How can they be removed?

I have a 91 Escort w/same problem. I peeled all of the plastic coating off to bare metal and spray painted trim w/flat black paint. Looks great.

I cleaned off the loose stuff..scuffed them up slightly..masked CAREFULLY! mixed up some (fiberglass)resin and hardener, tinted it black..hand painted it with a brush.if you add a thickening agent like talc to the mixture..you can pretty much make them as smooth as you want or sand them.LOL..MASK VERY CAREFULLY IF..you EVER plan on using the windows again!!..the whole job didn't take very long at all..and I have the stuff around anyway..
