engines for mr2

this question has already been asked a million times by now probably,
but how do I get a 2jz in an 93 mr-2? I want to know if it has even been done by anybody or if there is some garage that does the swap, any information would be helpful really. I know some toyota
built engines fit. but I would like to swap either a 2jz or lexus 8 cylinder
in it.

Re: engines for mr2

ummm.... lots of money.

i'm not sure there is enough room in the engine for a 2jz and tranny, but with major mods it might work... i haven't heard of either, but i know that bill strong has a northstar v8 powered mk1, and myself and a few others have done a 3sgte conversion into a mk1... as far as mk2's go, i've only seen v6 transplants

im pretty sure over 10 grand and thats not including the clip, thats because u have to make custom exhausts and everything for it... i dont kno, it might be less... this is assuming that someone else is doing all of it for u... if you do most of it urslef than it helps a lot

you dont. lol does that answer your question? a 2jz in an mr2 will totally alter the characteristic of the mr2. NOt to mention for the amount of money that you would spend, you would build an insane 3sgte motor. i make over 300whp and i get 26mpg = ) how can you beat that? i would assume also that with a 2jz in the mr2 it will handle like Sh*t. That kills the fun of the car.
