Restoring a Pacer

I'm a huge fan of waynes world, so resently i bought an old amc Pacer. Its got a amc jeep engine in it, but its in horrible shape. Now buying the pacer kind of contradicts my fast car fetish, so i need some advice on suping it up. Does anyone know what engine would fit in it that would be able to handle nitrous too. And also i'd like to convert it to manual transmission. help me out here please...

Re: Restoring a Pacer

Go to http://cgi.amcforum.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl and post a question there. It is a large forum of mostly AMC and Rambler people who are very knowledgeable. It shouldn't be a Jeep engine in the Pacer, it should be an AMC. AMC owned Jeep during the years the Pacers were made. I believe some people have installed AMC 401's into Pacers and used them as drag cars. If you want to run nitrous ask on that forum and someone should have details.
