Miracle: Movie Review

ok i finally got a chance to see this film, although some of you already have, sorry for the delay.

In this true story about the 1980 US Men's Olympic Hockey team, we see all the hardships and obstacles, the team needed to overcome to become the greatest team in the world of hockey. By now most people should have heard this story once in their lives, but i feel the movie did a great job in recreating it for the folks on this board who have not heard or were even born when this monumentous goal was accomplished.

With a terrific screen play, suspense, and excitement, Miracle was a very good movie, with terrific acting coming from all the actors involved. A good movie to see if you havent already.

3-1/2 Stars out of 4. Rated PG for brief strong language and mild violence.

Approx. 2hr 15mins.

it was very good, just not oscar-caliber good, making it lose that sought after 1/2 star.

I'm glad that they have finally made an "adult" movie about hockey (read:non-Disney)...my favorite sport...but typical of Hollywood to choose a movie that features a chance to flaunt American patriotism. No offence meant to my neighbours south of the border...honestly...I have the greatest respect for American patriotism and wish my Canadian brethren would reflect it other than in beer commercials. But why not choose the 1972 Summit series between Canada and the Russians or something of the like?...is it to show tribute to Herbs Brooks? Justifiably...but I just found it "oozed" way too much "we're better than everyone else" sentiment to appreciate it...other than that...hey it was about Hockey...so I still give it a 3 out of 5

the thing about the 80 team, is that they were destined to fail, noone believed they had a chance against the russians, so when they beat them, it was one of most amazing things in sports history, noone could have expected it to happen the way it did.

Same reason that they won't broadcast major tennis tournaments here after all the Americans in them have lost. Americans don't want to watch anything unless its about them. Simple as that.
