Question towing in 4wd low

I have a 99' Tahoe 4WD 5.7L. I tow a 24 ft express cruiser at the top end of the towing capacity rating. Would it make sense to switch to 4WD low when putting in/out of water on steeper grades...for a lower gear setting? I know it really labors to pull the boat out of the water in 2WD. It seems to tow fine otherwise.

It would drop your ratio, but remember 10-15 mph would be MAX coming out. Do you drop it into overdrive coming out or go all the way down to gear 1? All you can do is try, towing it only 100 feet or so won't be hard on the low, just remember your top speed will be very limited. You should put it in low before you go down, not sure on the 99, but the 95 you need to put it trans in neutral before you go 4 low.
