91 SC1 Diagnostic Code 45
Good evening, I am thinking about giving this car to my Mom but t has a problem. When starting you have to mash the accelerator all the way to the floor, rev it to at least 2000rpm and shift into Drive (or reverse) without letting it do dead. ( did I mention it smells like it is loading up pretty bad too) When you let off the gas and reaccelerate (even at speed) it hesitates as well as when you go to stop, then it will die without reving it. I tested the PCM diagnostics with the jumper and all and got only one problem, a code 45. I can not find ot what this entails anywhere. The car has been sitting for about 6 months without starting so I replaced the plugs and bingo up and running. But still having the same idle problems. Anyone out there run into this problem before? I don't really want to take it in to the dealership as I am trying to spend as little on this as possible. Not to mention I have had considerable difficulty with my dealership here. Please help my poor old dear sweet mother really needs a car.

Re: 91 SC1 Diagnostic Code 45
take the vehicle to advance auto parts, or auto zone, and they have testers that will tell you what is wrong (free), or you can purchase a haynes manual which will tell you.
