Hi-temp engine paint. Available at any local auto parts store. Just be sure to clean everything really good before you spray it, and spray a few coats, giving each coat plenty of time to cure.

i agree, or u can get the whole motor powdercoated, that would look pretty good, i would also suggest getting high temp clear coat so it wont fade as well

I would agree with powder coating. I had my valve-cover for my y8 powdercoated chrome, and it looks great, and won't peel or chip... I'm thinking about doing the same with my block and tranny housing... Would probably cost you about $150 to do.

Ok there was a post about this saying dont paint your block it acts like insulation and it makes your motor run hot. Hmm
confused. But hey our blocks wont rust so I would not paint it just for the possiblty of it over heating.

this is what mine looked like when mine was sprayed with 1200temp paint. unfortunatly we didn't clear it and the paint faded after we touched it with oily hands. the paint literally came off on our hands
![]() i've had powder coat as well. i didn't do the whole block, just the valve cover so i dunno about that heat theory. but i do know it's more durable. drop a socket on it and it won't chip.
