transmission dipstick

Does anyone know where the transmission dipstick is on a sunfire 2000
with 4 speed automatic transmission? I know where the filler hole is
but i cannot locate the dipstick. The car book says if your loosing it
you should go to the dealer to have it checked and or topped. Yeah
right I can read a dipstick if I can find it

Thks

Re: transmission dipstick

When I have my sunfire oil changed at rapid lube, the guy under the car told me that the transmission fluid needs to be change too. so I thought the dipstick is somewhere under the engine.

That's correct, there is no dipstick, ther is a method of checking it but it involves removing a plug from the transmission and the vehicle needs to be level and running to do this, it is best done on a hoist or from underneath when the car is parked over a pit in a quick lube facility.
