4 x 4 problems

I have a 1992 jeep cherokee country. My problem is that when i turn on my part time it either takes a while to turn on or it doesn't but it says its on. The other thing it does it when i take it off part time it stays on and you know when the 4x4 is still on. It needs a jolt or a long time for the part time to turn off again. This usually doesn't happen in full time only part time Not even turning the car off solves the problem. If anyone can help I thank you

you need to shoot all the wires, see if you have a cross short or a short to ground. It could also be something wrong with the transfer case.

I have a 90' cherokee and I had a problem with the front axle disconnect vacuum actuator ingaging. It would only go part way in then disengae when torque was applied. It turned out to be the vacuum pot not pushing the fork all the way in. Maybe yours isn't pushing back out to disengage? I also have to backup for a few feet for my parttime to kick out after hitting the dry ground. Then it disengages fine and away I go! Hope this helps.
