Goin on a diet-need advice

Im overweight. Im on a diet. I also want to build up some muscle. Pretty straight foward, huh? Heres my daily routine:

-Have breakfast-bannana
-Then Lunch-Roast beef on Pumpernickle, sprite and an orange
-Eat Dinner-some sort of meat, vegetable, and a patato(no butter)
-Work out-normally 50 pushups and 50 crunches
-Walk a mile (or vice versa with above)
-Use these thingys called "Theighmaster" by Suzzane Summers (i didnt buy them, they were around so i used them ) that help build the muscles in your arms.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Re: Goin on a diet-need advice

You will struggle to lose weight fast doing that. You need to be running/jogging for about 30 mins EVERY SINGLE DAY, eating a lot of lean protein and raw vegetables/salads.

Re: Goin on a diet-need advice

I agree with Oz, that routine seems more like one geared to stay in shape.

The key to losing body fat is lean meats, low carbs, and steamed vegetables. If you're going to eat a salad, use low fat dressing or, better yet, none at all.

Pushups and situps.. I don't know. Check out Jay's thread titled "need a simple routine", my post outlines a great exercise routine.

If you have any questions, just email or PM me.

Don't drink soda. Drink water or some type of health drink along with the foods that eversio and oz mentioned. Good luck.

Re: Goin on a diet-need advice

2 meals a day? Try about 6 mate. Eat MORE for breakfast, cut out the roast beef (fat) and the sprite, add in chicken and fish, do NOT eat foods with carbs after 4pm ok?? By the sounds of it your body cant convert them before you sleep, so lay off. LOTS of water and juice, hell, even tea. But instead of large main meals, have a few smaller ones.
