2000 Camry v6 stalls

My Camry is stalling, for few seconds the engine skips. if i at at complete stop than from stop to accerlation
engine strugles. Once at a speed it goes fine.

Could it be bad gas ?

or do I need to change the spark plug, if so were are the spark plugs
I could not find them ?

I have 41000 miles on it do you think this kind things are covered by
toyota ?

The spark plugs are probably OK.Has the check engine light come on while you are driving?If it has the problem is probably covered by Toyota.

How long has it been since you've changed your fuel filter? I don't let mine go any longer than 30,000 miles. I had a real bad experience once so I learned the hard way to ensure that I take care of this at tune-up time.

Do you use brand name gas (ie: Sunoco, Getty Mobil) or other gas. From my experiences, brand name gas is better. A few years ago I had a Mitsubishi Diamante and whenever i put Citco gas it ran like crap and/or stalled out and had similar problems like your Camry. This is very unlike a Toyota vehicle. It could be the fuel filter as well, like Bossman said above.

First of all Thank you all for such quick response

I use BP/Amoco plus gas just week before the problem started I had put in BP regular.

Since the problem did not go away, I decided to take it to the dealer
at least they the right tools. First I wanted to take it to STS or PEPBOYS
but thought may the stuff is covered under warrenty.

It turned out to be one of the Ignition coil, which cost be with installation $200/- bucks.

Problem is gone, car runs fine now.

The question what caused the ingination coil to quit ?

I did ask dealer if this was covered in warrenty, not.

before this I was looking for spark location in my camry do you know were theay are hidden ?

I wish I could but a mechanic I'm not. Any repair manual, such as a Haynes manual, could show you where it's located. Also, any repair shop and any Toyota dealer could look it up for you.

I suggest NOT replacing the fuel filter. Toyota's fuel filters are considered to be lifetime, unless something fails. I have been a Toyota technician for 8 years, and I have never seen a bad fuel filter. FYI, it's located just under the air filter housing, drivers side of the engine compartment. There is a 17mm bolt on the top that connects the 'out' fuel line to the fuel injector rail. There is a 14mm fuel line that threads into the bottom of the fuel filter. This is the 'in' line from the gas tank. This is the problem during replacement. Many times the bottom line is overtightened from the factory, and during removal the threads on the line are bad. In this case, the line has to be replaced, not an easy job. I wouldn't touch the fuel filter.

Thanks for your reply. I think your right because i my problem was rectified now. i replaced my sparkplug with new ones and now my camry 2000 starts smoothly.

I have 2000 v 6 camry, can you tell me location of spark plug. What type did you replace with.

My camry is 4 cylinders, meaning there are only 4 plugs. On top portion on the main body of the engine, there are 4 wires running. pull your out this wires one by one, be sure to put them in their proper places later. Pulling this wires will be slightly difficult. Take a sparkplug wrench and unscrew the sparkplugs. I replaced them with twin ground type.
Be sure that engine is cool before replacing to avoid burns

Make sure you put anti-seize compound on the threads of the spark plugs before you put them in. Otherwise you may damage your heads (expensive).
