Lightbulb chamber mufflers

Does anyone know anything about chamber mufflers. were can you get them and do they make a big difference in sound. I have an 87 camaro , with a 305 automatic, carburated. would it sound good with that set up. or would you suggest glass packs or mufflers. which would sound better.

Re: chamber mufflers

hmm, by chambered do you mean like the GMMG system? or the chambered exhausts on the old 1969 camaros and 1970 chevelles??? they do sound awesome. i preferr them to everything. glasspacks, in my taste are too loud and harsh for daily driving on the street. as far as mufflers, thats a personal taste deal, listen to as many as you can, pick the one that YOU like best. not that people tell you to use.

Re: chamber mufflers

yeah, a chambered muffler is basicly a pinched tube resonator. strait pipe with "dimples" in it.

Re: chamber mufflers

hmmm, you can try year one inc. look at the GMMG setup, and print out the pictures. take em to the local shop and see if they can make you a system like that. if you supply the chambered mufflers. so you would need two of them to reproduce that setup.
