Tips/Tut's on rims?

Boy oh boy, do I hate drawing rims? They always make a decent drawing look horrible. Im drawing a '51 Bel Air and I need to draw the rims, but I know its going to mess everything up. Any tips? Suggestions? Guidelines?

Re: Tips/Tut's on rims?

Use a pencil first to get the right shape. That's how i make sure they look right eventhough my rims always turn out wonky. lol

Re: Tips/Tut's on rims?

a. draw very lightly
b. once you get a decent shape down, make minor adjustments to that same shape, instead of completely erasing if its not perfect
c. pay close attention to the perspective
d. use a...stencil...if all else fails

I use the grid technique. I draw lightly. Keep trying to reshape. After 4 hours of shaping they still look retarded. Wheres Asaenz?
