Re: next order opinions
Take the two!
![]() The initial Diablo from Fujimi has a problem: it's a pre-serie version, means that the front lights on the bumper an the air intakes for the brakes aren't in the good place... The Koening one is more accurate, except for the rims, maybe (not sure), because they're the same as the basic Diablo (so maybe a little too small....) If you plan to make a custom of it, you'd better take the Koenig one, I feel... I found pics on the web (on a kind of P-man's site... : http://pri1011.hp.infoseek.co.jp/index.htm )to show you the differences:I hope these will help you to choose...

Re: next order opinions
I'm afraid not: Fujimi's diablo as a kind of "curside engine" (see pic of the assembly guide, taken at www.1999.co.jp: it gives a good idea of how this unusual kit is made)
The only Diablo to have a full motor is, to my knowledge, the Revell US Diablo Snap-kit. I've read many modelers planning to kit-bash this motor to put it inside the body of Fujimi's diablo, which seems to be the most accurate... Anyway, if you have to know that if you want to represent it curside (nothing opened), it will be ok. But if you want an accurate doors_and_hood_opened model, you'll need to scratchbuild... I think real Koenig doesn't have twin turbos! Take a lok at these pics, taken from www.lambocars.com: there's not much difference between a simple Diablo engine (1st pic) and the Koenig one (2nd pic): ![]() ![]() Hope the pics aren't too big!

Re: next order opinions
Oh! This came to my mind too: be carefull with the wheels size: You could manage to put wheels like the Tamiya Porsche 996 GT3 18", but I'm afraid 19" wouldn't fit into the wheels arches... 1/24 doesn't seem to be the exactly the same for the two makers, concerning wheels and rims...

Re: next order opinions
Yes! Be carefull! Revell Germany Diablo= Italeri one= no engine!
Revell USA Diablo= Snap kit (no need to glue)= engine, to what I've understood... But I've never seen this kit in "real", only on the web: check it here: http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~xr2h-fkd...e30/se3000.htm (it's been a long time we haven't seen Hiroaki's great job here... what is he doing?)

Quote:
About the Diablo SE30 model, me, moved to Houston, the kit, stayed in Tokyo. That's why. It's true that the Revell snapper is the only Diablo kit, which comes with a complete engine / transmission assembly. I still see the kit on ebay quite often. As for the accuracy of the Fujimi kit, it represents the very early 2wd version. The turning marker locations are probably accurate, because I remember reading some article about different versions for each country. The brake duct openings were added when the VT was released. The other visual differences are deeper intakes on the rocker panels and a lowered instrumental cluster for improved (?) visibility. Will Fujimi correct those differences in the upcoming Diablo late version? I do hope so, but I have a feeling that that won't happen. |
