Hi, this is my first post on this form, i have a chance to get a 87 blazer 2.8 5speed, it needs a little body work, and it needs the front left drive shaft to be replaced. how hard is that? and it needs the front ball joint(that is included with the truck) any one got any info on the 87 blazer? any thing i should know or look for? thanx

Re: front drive shaft 87 blazer

if you've changed balljoints before you'll have no problem. i'm asuming the balljoints have been done a few times. the new lower balljoint needs to be pressed in you can rent a press from most parts stores for a couple bucks. the uppers will be held in with 4 bolt if they've been replaced before. you need a pickle fork to seperate the balljoints from the steering knuckle and a 36mm socket to remove the axle the other end of the axle has 6 bolts. i sugest getting a haynes or chilton manual. it used to take me a good couple hours with air tools to do that job.
