More HP
I have a stock 1999 gst Spider and I am new to the idea of performance modifacations. I am lookiong to slowly up the performance, maybe one modifacation at a time once a year or so. So I was wondering which modifacation produces the biggest jump in horse power, and at what price? What would be the logical steps to take and in what order? I feel that I am am capable of doing the work myself, short of pulling the whole engine and rebuilding it. The other logical question would be where to purchase the parts?
Thanks for any comments and help!! John Last edited by John Muro; 02-19-2004 at 12:20 PM. |

Re: More HP
I'd pay 15 grand for a 99 GSX spyder, but anyway...
You will find different sites give you slightly different order of modification. None will say 'for the greatest increase in power' but you can't make power without going in the basic order. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/2gupgradepath.htm http://www.dsmtuners.com/tuning-guid...tage1power.php Without looking at either, I'll tell you: Intake, BOV (and UICP), turbo back exhaust, boost controller. This will put you at the most air and fuel you can introduce before upgrading the turbo and fuel system. |
