110 Just Ain't Enough

I need more speed. IS elemanating the top speed limiter as simple as in my nissan. Locate and cut the speed sensor wire between the ECU and tranny or does the speed sensor wire run from the speeedo to ecu or ?. Any healp would be nice. 110 mph just ain't enough for me. Sorry if this post is f*cked up my Doc has got me on oxycontin for my lateerst back injury. Thanks I'm going tyo pass go pass out now.

Re: 110 Just Ain't Enough

i believe it's a built in function in the ECU. the only way to get rid of it is to get a chip reburn.

Re: 110 Just Ain't Enough

My stepmom has a 4.6L and I couldnt even get it to 110 by the time the CHP started creeping, lol. these birds are costly to get moving with their weird engine platforms, esp. my '86 3.8L V6 BLAH

Re: 110 Just Ain't Enough

Give me a few weeks and I willl sort out an easier and cheaper way than burning the ecu or purchasing a chip, to elemanate the top speed limiter. (Hopefully???)
I will post a "how to" when I figure it out.
Any body out there know of an online source for an ECU wireing diagram.

P.S. my car has 17in rims and some 50 series tire on it, thus my speedo is probably giving an inaccurate reading.

Re: 110 Just Ain't Enough

All the 'Birds with electroninc transmissions (~'93 up) will need a CHIP or the trans will NOT shift unless you install a manual valve body.

If you want a REALLY good chip that will REALLY add power and improve how the car runs, there is only ONE fella in the world that can do it right. Contact SuperChips Custom Tuning for his EEC magic.

I've been modding Ford modular enignes since 1998, this guy KNOWS HIS STUFF, and has proven it to thousand of people. He does DYNO tuning like no one else can.

You can also check out www.tccoa.com for additional MN12 (T-Bird and Mark VIII) info.

Re: 110 Just Ain't Enough

try a sooped up stage chip. Don't know if it will be legal once you get finished with it but it may work. Also....take your govner off. You could put on a new intake system or a ram air hood scoop and intake.
