Replacing headlight bulb? complicated?

hey guys, quick question. the service vehicle soon light came on this morning and scared the crap out of me. after reading some other threads i realized it might just be a headlight--and sure enough, it is. due to seriously limited funds, i was hoping to replace it myself. how complicated is this? i've heard nightmares about the plastic retainer drying out and breaking.
thanks!!

I changed the headlight on my 2000 grand am, even though it was not as easy as other cars it is possible. As long as you have your owners manual you shouldn't have a problem
