Special F-150 Alaskan edition?

I heard this wild story from an uncredible guy who claims his 1977 Ford F 250 I think it was. Is a special edition truck produced by ford to work on the pipe lines in alaska. Does anyone know if this guy's story is actually true, or is he just full of it.

I think he is just full of it, but I thought i'd see if anyone here can verify this.
