97-98 SE Specifics
Hey everyone...
I'm in the market for a 240 ...I would prefer a 97-98 kouki, but will look at other options. I've been looking on Auto Trader and Ebay, but my real question is: What are the specifics of the SE trim. I know this has been covered somewhere before but I searched and couldn't make heads or tails...I dont want to buy something online and find out its not an SE.I know obviously SE badging, I did find that SEs have 5 lug hubs. And I read through most of the newbie posts. Found the 18th digit of the model number to be very interesting thanks... Thats the stuff I'm looking for. So I can tell a dealer or private owner that he is lying and know what I'm talking, should the situation arise. Thanks Shohn |

easiest way to spot a SE is with its 5 lug hubs and factory white face gauges. If somebody took the time to convert a base model to 5 lugs and all the appearance of a SE then it wouldn't really matter since the cars arent that different, like they said, its just a few extra options to choose from.
Not all SE's have LSD. Your car must have ABS for it to even possibly have a LSD. Even if the car was equipeed with ABS, the LSD is still an option. You can't say just because you have an SE or ABS that u have a LSD, the only true ways to know is by checking the factory build sheet and options, or by taking off the cover on the diff, that way is very easy to tell what you have as an open diff and a LSD don't look anything simalar to each other. |
