Question Climate Control Help!!

Are the 2000 2001 climate controls (Knob Assembly) easily interchangeble with the the sliders in a 97 civic? I want to go to knobs... how would I change the connections if anything needs to be changed.... simple or easy?

I'd think you would need the whole system from a 2000/2001, mainly because the new ones are all electronic, and yours uses cables, so the old parts can't be updated. I'm not familiar with the 97 civic's dash, but I'm fairly sure that you'd also have to create something to hold the controls. On the 2000 civic, the emergency lights, and all the other knobs are all 1 part, which is kind of large, and it needs to be positioned vertically (unless you like having things that look funny).

Unless you REALLY hate the sliders, I wouldn't even think of doing something this complicated.

Re: Climate Control Help!!

I believe you could change the fan control but the actual heat/cold variable is a cable...IMO the sliders aren't bad...but that's just me who knows...

There are ALOT of wires for that fan control (you have to unplug them to get at the radio, thats how i know this). The slider control only has 4 settings, right? and the knob has something like 10, so there are more wires.
