Re: what is a blowoff valve

There is some discusion of wastegates, boost controllers, and blowoffvalves here.

http://www.racingknowledge.org/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=117

In short, it just relieves the pressure that builds up in the intercooler piping when the throttle is closed, but by its own inertia the turbo's compressor wheel is still spinning (and therefore moving air and generating pressure). And as such it is a part only needed in turbo cars.

You typically need to get a upper pipe that is glanged for the BOV you want, or else deal with adapters to make it work. Its a simple bolt on, and I dont see anyone that can read needing to pay someone to install one.

Re: what is a blowoff valve

Gold air?

I believe what you meant to say was:

"Hey, How many horses OR How much horsepower would a cold air intake and a catback exhaust give me?"

The answer: Not that much
