95 riviera no heat after battery change
I am the new owner of a 95 Riviera (inherited from my in-laws), in great condition with 55K miles. It had the original battery and needed a jump recently on a very cold day. So, we had a new battery put in....after the shop searched all over town for the screwy battery with venting that fits under the back seat. Now, the automatic climate control will not work. Cold air blows no matter how high you set the temp. When we first picked it up after the battery was replaced, the exterior temp reading flashed as we were driving. After a few restarts that day, it no longer flashes and stays on as it should...but no heat. Blower works fine. Any ideas?

Re: 95 riviera no heat after battery change
try unhooking the battery again, when ever i unhook mine it seems like it goes through a self test or something(acts weird and changes through all the settings on it's own) then is ok after that

Re: 95 riviera no heat after battery change
Thanks camlifter, it worked. I disconnected the battery for 5-10 minutes, and when I reconnected and started the car the display was no longer flashing and seems to be working fine. That battery under the seat is a real pain in the you know what, though. I wonder what the rationale for putting it there was????

Re: 95 riviera no heat after battery change
Just a comment from about the battery... it's under the back seat for a couple reasons... mostly because it last longer in that location, less heat, less dirt and so on, and it's IMPORTANT! to have the vents for it... trust me, it will eat away at the seat! and it's not to safe for anyone in the car.
