Looking to buy a 98 Hyundai Tiburon, one question
Hey guys, over the past few days we have been looking into buy in a 98 tiburon, its a manual, and there lies the problem, im 17 and only driven autos, but i would really like to have a Manual. The last time my dad let me try out his honda which is manual, i freakin stalled it like a million times, my dad tried to teach me but the hardest part wqas going from a stop into first, after that im fine, but do you guys have any tips, or know any sites that can help me out, i know practice is prolly best but justy looking for some tips becuae i hate not to by a car just cause i cant drive manual. Thanks guys for any help.

let out the clutch very, really, slowly. this will give you a feel for things. keep rpms at about 1500 and dont let the clutch out fast at any point, even when you think it is starting to engage. obviously, dont do this when you learn how to drive it good, because this will wear the clutch faster. it is ok for practice though. keep on practicing, manuals RULE!!!!!

Practice in a safe parking lot.
When you are at a complete stop. Carefully let the clutch out until the car wants to die. Then push the clutch back in slowly until it is at a steady idle. This is the point in which you want to remember. Take your foot off the brake and slowly press on the gas. The car should start to move at that point ease the clutch out little by little and also remember to ease the gas in little by little. I know this sounds very complicated but trust me you will get the hang of it. GOOD LUCK! Manuals are tons of fun. |
