Re: Rebuilding question

If you have a blown motor you will most likley have to rebuild the hole thing.

But what on the motor is gone. pex seals, corner seals, is the housing warped, blown coolant o ring? Whats wrong with it?

Re: Rebuilding question

apex seals are gone.
Because I was looking inside of the exaust port and i could see some pretty big and deep scraches, and there is no compresion at all . but the second rotor is still good compresion .

Re: Rebuilding question

Well generly you need to rebuild the engine. If you swap in a different housing a rotor you may run into problems mating the housings.
But if you have deep scratches you may need a new housing and rotor, sounds to me like you need a completly new engine.

Re: Rebuilding question

Well, if the housing is scored deeply then you will have to replace it. Which means a new motor.

Any idea what could have gine in the intake, or how it got there?

Are you sure you didnt lose a corner seal, and then lose the apex seal?

Re: Rebuilding question

No problem, keep us updated on the build up of the engine.

O and if you do decide to tare the 13b apart let me know what happened if you figure it out.
Good luck with it.

Yes it is, but if you're going to go through the trouble of taking the motor out, tearing it down, and doing all of this work, you really ought to spend awhile doing other modifications to it to make it worth your while... hence, do a 'full meal deal' rebuild on it and replace all of the seals and seal springs, o-rings, get new side seals cut, etc.

Engine rebuild

I opened an engine that was seeping water but ran great only to replace the water seals. Lost compression on one rotor. Had to replace all seals.
