Eclipse engine difference
Is the Eclipse 420A engine same as 4G63T engine but only without a turbo?
Are they different or the same? |

Re: Eclipse engine difference
No. It's why GS to GST conversions aren't as easy as a simple turbo bolt on.

the 420a engine is rotated 180 degrees around from the 4g63 which means that while looking under the hood facing the car the 420a engine is on left and the tranny is on the right, versus the 4g63 while looking under the hood the engine is on the right and the tranny is on the left(not to mention the engine itself it completely reversed, not just the order of the engine/tranny).
if your wondering about a swap, it's cheaper to buy a turbo than to convert one over. |
