ball joints
im not quite sure, but do your ball joints goo out after so long? my brakes, rotors, and mounts are all securly tightened down, when i speed up really fast and then push the clutch in, or when i apply a fair amount of pressure to the brakes i get this poppin noise coming from the joints, and it varies what side of the car its on.
sometimes on the passenger side, sometimes the driver side. it all started right after i replaced my mounts. but the mounts were done correctly. ![]() has this happened to anyone else?

for starters Check to see if the lower ball joints have their dust boots intact. If those are ripped then the grease will spill out of em which is not good.

good call, one is exposed, the passenger side. both have been removed lately and it seems to correlate. i did not think that the ball joints had to be replaced. hmm

Re: ball joints
I have had to replce mine, so it is highly possible that you need to replace yours. If the upper ball joint is bad then I would just buy the Skunk 2 upper control arms, that have the adjustable balljoint. The stock upper ball joints are a fixed part of the upper control arm, you cannot change them you have to replace the whole upper control arm.

how is it possible to know if it is the top or bottom? i know that the bottom ball joints have been giving me some trouble alittle while ago. but it seemed to fix itself i believe.

Re: ball joints
You have to jack up the car and then grab the wheel by the top and botton and see if it will move by pushing in on the top while pulling on the bottom and reverse. Just do that back and forth and see if it moves. If it does move then see if it is the top moving or the bottom.
