Question 2000 T&C LTD AWD: Radio problems.....

I have a 2000 T&C Ltd. AWD with the Infinity sound system. Whenever I turn the volume up to enjoy a favorite tune, the music cuts out with the beat of the bass. The more bass there is...the more it cuts out. The only remedy I can apply is to completely iliminate the bass to my music.\

Has anyone experienced this? I am wondering if it could be a problem with the radio or if there is an amplifier under the dash somewhere that could be acting up. I have not found one. I brought it into Chrysler to look at, but they send it out to be verified at a minimum $325 (Canadian funds as I live in Montreal). I am looking for some guidance here...

Thanks!

The amplifer cutting out is called "clipping". for less money you can buy an aftermarket replacement amp and wiring kit to replace it...

Re: 2000 T&C LTD AWD: Radio problems.....

For the system in your car (Infinity 10 speakers 200w) There is no conventional amp in the car. Each speaker has it's OWN amp! Do not try to add an aftermarket amp to it unless you change out the speakers to aftermarket speakers. The front dash speakers are 5 1/4" The doors are 5x7" and the rear side panels are 6x9.And by the rear hatch are 3" The apms are connected right at the side of the speaker. If you want to relplace them, the 6x9 cost around $202.00 each. And the 5x7's are about $58.00 each. Good luck R
