Neon vs Mx-6

haha this is great. so this kid i kno has been runn his mouth sayn how neons are slow right. so my brother just happens to pull up in the 5 speed neon to pick me up. so my friend is like u wanna race?? yea y not. so they lined up and my friend took off way before this other kid dropped his hands. My brother wasnt even pushn the gas all the way down and took off in neutral and burned out on some sand for a second. Finally we hit third and flew by the mx-6 at at least 60. The road almost ran out of space so we had to hit the brakes. But we won!!!Not much of an accomplishment because the mx-6 only has a CAI and its an automatic with 118 horsepower.

That's one thing about a Neon, too many people believe the nonsense about it being slow. I guess they never heard of the SCCA. hehe

Ok and SRT4 is quick, but you cant exactly call a non turbo neon fast. But they are impressive on the race track

There is one thing that seems to be forgotten to often, the car itself is in the equation for a large part but the driver to....

I have been in drag racing for many eyars and let me tell you that it's a verry good school for shifting skills and knolledge for appling power to the ground. I did 12.10 ET with my 1967 350pc Camaro stoker class in 1982.

--Did 13.96 ET 99 mph with my Eagle Talon 1990 awd tsi . The car was stock (brand new) but with a littel mod of my own that consit of a motocros gas thank valve an som vacuum tubig that join the waist gate back to the system. result= 22 pounds of boost. The knock censor cut the engine tree time down the 1/4 mile. after some calculation it average 275 HP.

My last weird trip.. 1985 JEEP CJ7 with a 454 cu in Chevy quite mod..
550 HP at 6500 RPM turbo 350 Chev trans full manual 3000 rpm stall
3.54 rear gear (stock ratio) but full modified AMC20 DIFF with Strange Shafts. At the beginning of the summer 11.90 ET 102 MPH on 29 Inch slick. At the end of the summer on a bit coolder evening 9.90 ET and that JEEP was daly driven on 36 Inch Dick Ceepek.

So all that to tell you that i have a 2000 Neon ES that i bought brand new and in the city and on boulv. i never did enjoy my self whit anny other cars as much that i do with this one. And i am not saying that i beat anny thing on the road, i shur do beat many but those that anny one would say that the NEON is not even there to consider well i verry often give them the freeky surprise or feeling of there life.

Nobody knows the potential of a car or a bike until he get to see some one that can make use of it to near limits.

True that. But I'm not saying the Neon is fast so much as I'm saying it's not slow. as compared to its competition.
