2002 2.5 rs for 11,500 ???

Hi, to all.. There is a 2002 2.5 rs in our local want ad digest for $11,500.. Now i looked up the kelly blue book for this car and it says it should go for around 19grand.. I called the guy and went to look at the car.. I guess the story what he has told me is that he bought it from an insurance company.. because supposinly the guy who owned it drove through a "puddle" and then engine sucked water and seized.. Then this guy bought it from the insurance company and dropped a new engine in it and is now selling it for 11 grand.. To me it seems like something is up with it.. the car runs great rides wonderful.. but what are some of the things i may want to look for.. I forgot to ask him if it had a salavage title or not but i am going to find that out.. thanks for all you help!!!

A puddle? That's one hang of a puddle!

Check the underbody and transmission, you may be able to see if there are signs of bodywork, also check the panel alignments on all panels, the gaps should be pretty even all round.

What's the mileage? If the BB value is about 19,000 then it must be a low mileage car?

and that is the site if you scroll down you will find the pic of the car... and yeah i thought that was alittle weird about the "puddle" I mean come on now.. if they designed cars that poorly subaru would be out of business if everytime you drove over a puddle the engine seized.. thanks for the info on making sure everything aligns right and all
