1984 dual saddle tank replacement

I have the strap bolts off, ground wire to frame off, plastic cover bolt to frame off, and filler tube unbolted. It seems the fuel and vent lines to the top of the tank are preventing the tank from being lowered. How do I reach the top of the tank to do this (without taking the box off) or might the tank be hung up on something else? It is the driver's side (LH) tank.

Re: 1984 dual saddle tank replacement

when i took my tank out i had to unbolt the strap mounts from the frame itself, not just the bolt that makes the strap tight. or take a long iron rod and yank that mofo right outta there, all that rust will snap right off lol.
