I am thinking about installing a remote starter in my 2003 t.b. LT
Wondering if anybody has installed one yet and how difficult it would be to do. I currently have a Crimestopper R.S in my 96' chevy 1/2 ton and it works great. |

Re: remote starter
it's do-able but you might void your warranty if you don't get the dealer to do it. the trailblazer uses a passlockII system like your 96 if you actually want to do it yourself this website has the wiring diagrams. http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/

Instead, you should use a databus interface to get the vehicle to work the way you intend. There are many places that make them. I use DEI stuff but that's me. You had better know and understand databus systems in order for this to work. |

Re: remote starter
wow i had no idea those things were such a pain in the ass for that vehicle. good luck. the only good thing is it doesn't use one of those friggen transponder keys like the minivans.. i'm not sure about gms but in fords you can use the factory fob to controll a remote start unit.. you'd think with the price of new vehicles and all the crap they put in them a remote start would be a factory option. well have fun with your data bus and let me know how it turns out

we have a 2002 tahoe, with a dealer installed remote- it works by hitting lock/open/lock- it starts and remains started for 5mins, then shuts off
on our 2003 trailblazer , with a dealer installed remote- it works by hitting lock twice. normally you hit lock twice to hear the beep to confirm it is locked, but not on a 2003. if you accidently hit the button twice, the car starts. hitting it a third time shuts it down. also it has no 5min timer. it stays started indefinetly. chevy sucks... |

You would have been better off going with a system that uses aftermarket remotes instead of the factory ones. You get much better performance especially if a DEI piece. www.directed.com |
