Keihin CV problems :(

Alrighty.. hows it going folks?

I am hoping someone here can help me out with my Keihin 38mm CV's.

I am using these carbs on my Toyota 4A-F (factory carbureted) engine.. 1600CC 16v.. 4 banger obviously.


Basically what is happening is fuel is coming out of the breather tube on the top.. It's not just a little bit but a LOT of fuel.. I don't know what is causing this. I thought that my fuel pump, a Facet 4-6PSI 35GPH pump was flowing to much fuel and just flooding the carbs out.. so I went out n got a regulator and have it set at 1/2PSI.. if I open the reg. up anymore the carbs start to flood out worse.. so what's the deal? I was able to run these carbs pretty damn nicely for about a minute worth of rev'ing and idling WITH NO fuel supply.. just what was in the float bowls. So I'm thinking that I'm just still giving it to much ..
My car had a mechanical fuel pump off of the engine which I replaced with an electric pump.. I never had these problems with that pump.
Any idea's? Another thing is that when I took the slide caps off to adjust the needle jets.. I noticed that all the springs were differen't lengths! 2 were really long n 2 others were shorter.. so I need to go get new springs..

Carb 4, when I lift the slide and the engine is running I can see it's just dumping a ton of fuel into the runner.. I can lift all the other slides n I don't see any fuel coming out of the needle jets..

I have size 35 pilot jets in.. 160 mains.. if that helps at all... Open carb setup..

That is the only pic I have to show right now.. for some reason cardomain is being dumb n I can't upload pics. In that pic you see the mechanical pump which isn't there anymore and ont hat side of the carbs now I have my cable linkage setup..

Oh, I am going to put a T on the fuel line right before the regulator for a return line to the tank..

Are the carbs oriented the same way they were desigined to sit on the bike. If not you'll have to adjust the floats to compensate, and that's only if there is enough adjustment. I looked at the picture and it looked like the seam of the float bowls is pretty level, but that's not always an indication of orientation.

About the springs, I've seen it before, it's part of the bike setup. That's more of a tuning issue and wouldn't mess with that until you get the carbs to stop dumping fuel.
