engine modded for turbo?

im a big fan of the rotary and i was just wondering if the engine set up on a n/a rx7 is different then a turbo charged one, and if the detonation timeing is the same, cuz i wanna get a non turbo rx7 and just put my own turbo on. any help would be appreciated thx

Don't bother. It's way cheaper to swap a Turbo II motor (assuming you are talking about the 2nd generation) and transmission than to turbo charge the NA 13B. Besides the NA 13B compression is too high to get much boost out of.

Question for ya...I just found out I have no compression in my 13B and am considering replacing it with a 13B turbo...is there much you have to change? It's a 88 RX-7 GLX with NA 13B....I mean would I have to just change the instrument cluster or would it involve a whole lot more?

you have to get a whole new tranny and drive train too I think
