No Battery Power?

Hi,

The positive batery terminal has two cables right?
One to the starter and one from the fuse panel right?
Then I have the terminal grounded to the by the clutch.
But I have to power.
I thought it was the main battery fuse, but the fuse is not broke in half.
What could it be?
I have checked all fuses under the dash and engine panel.
Thanks

You might've killed the battery with all the sparking problems you were having. If you have the means, take the battery to just about any auto parts store. They'll usually test them for free...

It could just be a matter of recharging the battery.

Check all your grounds - and then check them again. If any of them look dirty, corroded, etc... clean them up with a wire brush.

Aside from a bad ground, or a loose connection, I'm not sure what it could be.

Re: No Battery Power?

check your clutch switch. when you push down the clutch to start the car theres a little trigger it hit to enable power. 99% sure you burnt that out. has happened to me before only like 25 bucks or so. best way to check is jump both those wires on the plug together if it starts that switch needs to be replaced.

Re: No Battery Power?

No i dont think thats the problem because i dont get no headlights, hazards, dash, nothing whatsoeva. I just replaced the main batery fuse also.
Like, I said I tried a brand new battery also.
No power.
The postive has one cable goin to the fuse panel and one cable going to the starter.

But, when i bought the car, the guy had to neagative cables. One cable went from one of the tranny bolts and the other was the regular ground cable from the clutch cable.

Please help, i really need this car running by monday.
Thanks alot.

Re: No Battery Power?

Alright,

This is what I have concluded so far.
It is not the battery causing the problem because I put a brand new fully charged battery in.

It is not the positve battery cables because they are secure and tight.

It is also not the negative because I put a whole new ground wire in.

I also cleaned the terminals to get a good connection.

It is not the main battery fuse because I jus bought a new one and replaced it.

I thought it was the starter cable but it wouldnt make a difference because I would still get some power.

Im starting to think maybe I should get a new engine fuse panel. Maybe it got messed up in there somehow.

Also, I am gonna go to a junkyard and get the positve and negative cables from another car.
So I can use the stock cables the way they where supposed to be.

Other then that Im clueless on how to fix this problem. I am not gettin any power at all.
Anyone got any idea on whats causing this?
Thanks

Re: No Battery Power?

Hi,

You may have a problem with the ground cable. www.sickcarsymptoms.com gives diagrams how to diagnosis a ground cable.

Good luck

Re: No Battery Power?

I'd say bust out a multimeter and follow your main fuse, starter, and cabin wires and make sure your getting 12v. It sounds like you have an open wire somewhere, or a burnt fuse in the main fuse box.
