Adjusting drivers door-Wind noise

I'm getting alot of wind noise from the drivers door. When I grab the door handle doing highway speeds the noise will stop so I know the problem is with the door adjustment. My truck has the 3rd door. I figure to solve the problem all that I would have to do is to adjust the stricker plate. Well to my surprise it can't be adjusted. What is the correct way to make the proper adjustment on the S-10? I have read somewhere where you "bend" the door for a proper fit. If this is true,it's something that I won't try myself. Thanks for the help!

Re: Adjusting drivers door-Wind noise

Yes what you heard is true. There is no adjustment, leaving you the only option to bend the door. It's not that hard.Start off by opening the door, wind window down, put your leg(knee) at the bottom of the door, just under your interior door panel, grab the door(window frame)towards the back and give it a yank!If this doesn't work. You can pull down your weatherstriping and bend the pitch weld out with pliers. This should help you out.

Oh I forgot, make sure it's not your pins and bushings.S10's are known for these.Easy to check, open door, grap the bottom of the door and lift up.If you feel play, you need pins and bushings. And the above fix won't really help none.

Movin2Stereo, Thanks for all of your advice on all my posts. Bending the door to make the adjustment? This sounds like a strange way to do things but i'll give it a try. I just remembered that we bought a new fridge a few years back and the door would not close properly. Called the dealer and he told be to do the samething with the door. So I did and presto it has worked perfect ever since. You learn something new everyday. Once again, thanks.
