to install or not to install, a CAI that is ;)
alrighty guys...i think i'm finally ready to start modding my car. its been a month, and i have decided i have the $40 to spend on a CAI from ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2459435291 heres my problem. i live in miami, FL. sunny, hot, WET miami, FL. that particular CAI doesn't come with a bypass valve. how likely am i to suck in water, AND, to be safe, do they sell the valves seperately?? would YOU install it anyways???

If i where u id just save up for the AEM CAI, or Injen,but im a named brand whore. I dont really trust the sellers on ebay. as for bypass valve get one if its rains a lot in my opinion, AEM makes some. I live in Cali and i dont have one and im fine, i just drive on busier streets and try to distance myself from other cars as well as avoid puddles

yup ur filter has to be completly sub,erged in order for u to hydro lock

DO IT!!! one of my friends had a CAI and drove through a puddle and hydrolocked his engine and his prelude got totalled, i got a bypass valve after that and havent had any problems with puddles, people talk about power decrease and how the intake is quiter and all that garbage with the bypass valve but mine didnt change anything like that.
