I think you might have a fuel system problem, possibly the fuel pump. You need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge and monitor the fuel pressure overnight. If the fuel pressure drops down significantly after sitting for a while, you may have the fuel pump leaking internally, pressure regulator may be weak or even an injector or injectors leaking down. Lets not forget a slow gas line leak.
Next time you go start your car, try cycling your ignition key to the on position 3 or 4 times, all the time listening for the fuel pump turning on and off. This will prime the fuel lines, and if the car goes vroom, (starts)you have a fuel system problem. Good Luck.

Re: Starting Problems
just wondering if you let the fuel pump prime itself when you try to start it you are supposed to turn the key forward and wait to crank it over for about 8 seconds somepeople turn the key right to the crank position and it usually starts but it really isn't the best way to start a car. And with the premium gasoline, it is always good to use premium but on the older cars it is unnecessary but if you feel it helps more power to ya.

Re: Starting Problems
JERKY420 is right about Premium Grade gas. You might want to read this:
http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...emiumgas_x.htm The one benefit you might recieve from using premium would be a more complete burn from the higher octane (correct me if I'm wrong). I'd say pvc may have hit the nail on the head with his diagnosis. Did you run the test he suggested? I noticed you did verify the pump running, but did you try priming the pump a couple of times before you attempted to start it? |

yes i only had to turn the key to the on position once let it sit there for alike a couple of seconds n turn it. So far no problems, i have had this prob b4 but i always use fuel injecter cleaner and it always goes away, maybe its the fuel pump idk, But the pump is running and i can hear it.

Re: Starting Problems
Good call, might not be clogged enough to cause a big issue yet.

Re: Starting Problems
to chang the filter you have to raise the vehicled rearend crawl under right by the fuel tank (just in front of the rear tires) and you will see it right next to the tank on the front side spray them with a penetrating lube first couse they can be stubborn and you really dont want to fix fuel lines, and use a line wrench just to make it the easiest for you good luck.
