1983 is probably the answer you're looking for, but there is an 83 model at the NCM. They were never offered to the public, though.

Yep, 1983.
Got another trivia question for ya. When Chevy introduced the ZR-1 with it's LT-5 DOHC V8, the car looked VERY SIMILAR to the regular Corvettes out there. However, it was WIDER. How much wider? Eh...?

As a completely wild, random guess, with numbers totally out of my ass, I'll say 3".
Would asking the first year for the LT1 constitute asking a trick question? |

Yeah, 3"
1970 was the first year the LT-1 was offered in vettes...I wouldn't consider it a trick question Heres one:In 1959, Jim Hall, Carrol Shelby, and Gary Laughlin proposed an aluminum bodied corvette to Chevy. They commisioned an Italian coachbuilder to do the work...which one was it? |

I presume you mean the XP-720. Well, I won't cheat...I don't know who designed it. I actually thought it was Bill Mitchell, but I don't think he was Italian.

not sure what the XP# was...I meant the coachbuilder, though. It was scaglietti(sp?) Here's another...its pretty easy: what was the name of the straight six used in vettes from '53-'55?

Wasn't there a crossed flag emblem on the front fenders of the 57s? Or was that just the fuelies?

ok, here it is: look at the inside rear view mirror. On the 1956 model, it adjusts with a thumbscrew, on the 1957 adjustment requires a wrench to loosen the locknut.
