I am hoping some scooby guys can help me and not make me feel too stupid. What is the actual function of the roof scoops used on rally cars in the WRC, SCCA, ETC.?

Re: Functional Roof Scoops?
Driver cooling.
The roof scoops lead to an interior air vent through some filters which the driver and co-driver can regulate the air flow through and helps to keep them cool in the warm interiors. Remember, rally cars are stripped down to the necessities, there is no air conditioning(although Peugeot have been experimenting with it), and very little heat protection from the engine and transmission components. |

Re: Functional Roof Scoops?
That's not one of the reasons, that's the only reason.
