First mods
Well i'm going to get my VR-4.As you alll know i will do some mods when i get it...or a little bit after i get it.But i just wanted to know what you all have done to yours (exhaust, intake).I want to find out what works good with VR-4's.Also...now much hp and psi can the stock turbos take?The mods i will want to do are:Intake, exhaust, boost controller, boost gauge and EGT gauge (yes i know they are not really mods), high flow cat, downpipe, fuel pump, injectiors, AFC (aka air/fuel controller), ingnition, underdirve pully, plugs and wires.But i dont want to do the new turbos and intercooler for sometime now.Whats somegood places/brands where i can buy the mods?Oh yea...i wont be doing all the mods at the sametime...i'll do it as time comes.Thanks for your help!

Shoot...i forgot the biggest question of all.I'll want to get a new blow-off valve.I'm thinking Greddy type-s.But i dont know.Anyways...do i have to get a new Y pipe to make it fit.So that way the fittings match...or will it make from stock?

You need an adapter flange with the Greddy BOV.
I personally think its a waste of money. The only reason 2G eclipse owners upgrade the bypass valve is because of boost leak. 3000gt owners don't have to worry about it.

if you're doing the BOV, get a closed system one that vents back into your intake. The open systems that vent into the atmosphere are pointless except for the sound. Like AcesHigh said, the stock works fine. Also, if you are boosting past 14.5psi the stock plastic y-pipe has a tendency to blow off, you'll hear a thump against your hood and you'll lose all power. So if you are going to boost past that, I would recommend a new one anyway.

Go to 3si.org, click on mods on the right, then it gives you a pretty good moding guide. As far as good tuners to buy from, it also has a list of tuners that specifically deal with our cars. 3sxperformance.com is a good one that I recommend. Also check out stealth316.com for lots of good info.
Lastly, http://johnmonnin.netfirms.com/ has a good list of comparisons on different mods, listing pros and cons of each brand. Good luck

I would get the Cat-Back exhaust system first befor the intake. You will get more out of it. It sounds cooler and it is better IMO.....Yeah but the intake is cheaper so do what eva. GOOD LUCK!

Actually, the stock catbacks have pretty good width, you wont really need to upgrade those (unless you are going for sound) until you upgrade the turbos. The stock setup has been used on 11 second runs(possilby into the 10s?). I believe the most restrictive parts in your exhaust system are the precats and downpipe. Gut the precats and thro in a downpipe(stillen, atr, 3sx) some of them even eliminate the main cat and one of the precats. That will give you a deeper tone and free up your turbos ability to breathe. You'll pick up some hp and your turbos will respool faster which will seem to give you more power. Personally, I would do the intake way before the catback. There are tons of good staged upgrade guides to follow out there, but to each his own. It's your car, do what makes you happy.
