Security System Help
Hi, I recently purchased a Crimestopper 2002 Car Alarm/Keyless Entry System for my 1996 Honda Accord Lx, but I am having trouble finding some of the wires. I was able to find the Ignition harness easily, and think I can tap into the wire behind the radio coming from the passenger door to get the door lock/unlock wires, but I cannot find the door trigger wires or the emergency flashers.
I figured I could just tap into the wire above the radio where the emergancy flasher button is but there are about a dozen wires going into the connector at that switch. On the door trigger wires, I am not sure how to wire it so that it serves a purpose too the alarm. In the car the doors triggers don't seem to ever join into one. The dash display tells me which door is open do I assume that they are separte all through the car. ANY help or tips would be greatly appreciated! Last edited by Cycoco; 02-15-2004 at 07:05 PM. |

JUST MAKE SURE TO TEST ALL WIRES WITH A VOLTMETER BEFORE HACKING UP YOUR CAR. GOOD LUCK.

Re: Security System Help
"your questions seem to make you very incompentant to do this type of install" <Ill agree here, I probably shouldn't be doing this as I have never worked with a cars electrical system (Other than audio), but I am too cheap to pay someone to do what I could eventually get done myself and I am very stubborn.
I figured if I used the emergancy flashers it would save me the trouble of trying to find the other lights. (This is why I ask dumb questions before I try something that probably wont work). When I reread my post, I screwed it up. I didn't mean to ask what the door triggers were for. What I meant to ask was, since the car doesn't seem to join the door triggers togeather (since the display has a light for each door when it is open), how am i going to wire this up so it detects them all. Wont it make the door trigger be pointless if I only wire it up to one door? I am using a voltmeter, but when there are 50 orange wires under the steering column, it is easier to ask people so I have at least the right area. Yes, I plan to solder the connections. Though, I am kind of wondering what you think I might do but shouldn't that you even needed to say that, lol. Guess I seem more like an idiot with no clue in my posts than I realize. Thanks for the help with the wire locations. |
